BSS is currently seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor in the South Dublin area to work on behalf of our client a leading Engineering Company. 

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on overall procurement and contract strategies and implement them
• Attend client, site and design team meetings throughout the life of each project and actively contribute at these meetings
• Produce interim financial forecasts and reports and prepare detailed financial statements
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, dayworks or claims
• Preparing cost reports and discussing them with the clients project manager prior to submission.
• Monitor and report the progress of works on a project against planned progress

Requirements 

• Qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management
• Have gained a minimum of 3-5 years experience working on building projects in the UK, Mainland Europe or Ireland as an M&E Quantity Surveyor
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good oral & written communication skills

BSS are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work in Dublin on behalf of our client a Tier One Contractor on a Commercial & Residential projects.

Responsibilities: 

• Project procurement including issuing tender packages, preparation of tender reports and appointments in line with construction program
• Comparing tender and construction documents, advising of any changes and preparation of valuation for submission to sub-contractor
• Monitoring of project costs and agreeing variations with Contracts Manager
• Preparing monthly reports
• Preparing, negotiating and agreeing final account.
• Provide and control strategy of commercial contracts with clients representatives. 

Requirements: 

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, with Irish Tier One Contractors/Main Contractor 
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
