BSS Building Staff Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a growing medium-sized main contractor delivering
projects valued from €10m to €80m across the commercial, residential and retail sectors.
You need to be an experienced Setting out Engineer for this position with a high level of proficiency with EDM Equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out accurate setting out for building and civil works.
Interpret drawings and coordinate with site management.
Monitor quality and ensure works are completed to specification.
Maintain survey records and as-built drawings.
Support the delivery team to achieve programme milestones.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
3+ years setting out experience on construction projects.
Proficient with GPS, total station and surveying equipment.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
Full driving licence preferred.

Job Title – Civil Engineer (Electrical Infrastructure Delivery)
Location: Greater Dublin area
Salary: €75K plus DOE

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Civil Engineer with experience in Electrical Infrastructure to join an Established Civil Engineering & Utilities Contractor. This is an office based role with attendance on site required as needed.
The Civil Engineer plays a key role for our client in supporting and coordinating civil and electrical works on-site. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to technical standards, this role assists in ensuring successful project execution within budget and programme requirements.
Responsibilities
• Review electrical project designs, drawings, and specifications; assist in producing detailed baseline programmes using Microsoft Project.
• Monitor and track project schedules; provide progress updates and technical reports to the Project Manager and client.
• Support in identifying risks, delays, and critical path activities; assist in preparing extension of time claims where required.
• Review and monitor project costs against budgets; flag any variances and propose corrective measures.
• Assist in identifying scope variations and provide input for negotiating additional costs with the client.
• Prepare and issue required project documentation and records in line with contractual obligations. • Provide technical support to site teams including Site Agents, Supervisors, and QS staff.
• Support the preparation and review of Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), electrical safety procedures, and other HSEQ documentation.
• Carry out inspections and assist with site audits to ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and electrical standards.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve design and coordination issues, proposing practical solutions.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with statutory regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards.
What you need to have
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer in electrical engineering, utilities, or civil infrastructure projects.
• Solid technical knowledge of electrical systems (e.g., power distribution, utilities, street lighting, or infrastructure connections) with awareness of associated civil works.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Full driver’s licence.
• Background in civil engineering with electrical project delivery preferred.
